Abstract
This Regulation of the Council of Amhara National Regional Government establishes the Koga Irrigation Development Project Office as an office of the regional government with its own autonomy and legal personality. It shall be accountable to the Amhara National Regional State Agriculture Bureau. The Office shall, pursuant to this Regulation, have the following objectives: 1. To promote the per-capita or household income of farmers by taking care of the Koga Irrigation Development Project infrastructure and making its utilization effective, by using various technologies as well as production-boosting inputs and thereby enhancing productivity as well as producing a variety of crops, more than twice a year, having demand on markets; 2. To follow–up the proper protection and maintenance of the irrigation development construction, ensure its sustainability, and thereby facilitate a condition whereby the project would entirely be transferred to and administered by the community. The Regulation also defines some duties of the Bureau for purposes of this Regulation (facilitation, supervision and approval of plans).
