National Energy Policy.

This document sets out the general energy policy for Ethiopia. It places high priority on modern energy (ecologically and environmentally sound) resources development and in particular hydro-power resource development, but also concerns energy conservation and sustainable use of energy. Due attention shall be paid to ecological and environmental issues during the development of energy projects. One of the elements of the policy is community participation, especially the participation of women, in all aspects of energy resources development.
