Abstract
This Regulation of the Council of Ministers establishes the Ethiopian Environment and Forest Research Institute as an autonomous federal government organ having its own legal personality. The Institute shall be accountable to the Ministry of Agriculture. The objective of the Institute shall be to make areas affected by tsetse fly and trypanosomosis free of the pest with a view to increasing the products and productivity of animal and crops and providing animals of good quality to beneficiaries and thereby make proper contribution in the process of enabling the society to be self-sufficient in food. It shall, among other things: identify areas affected by tsetse fly and trypanosomosis and organize them to make suitable for work, and work in collaboration with the relevant bodies and carry out research and activities for the eradication of the tsetse fly.
