Abstract
The National Social Protection Strategy is a national policy with a cross-sectoral approach. This policy lays down strategies in the areas of (I) promoting productive safety nets, (II) promoting employment opportunities and improving livelihoods, (III) promoting social insurance, (IV) access to health, education and other social services, and (V) addressing violence, abuse and exploitation and providing legal protection and support. Furthermore, poverty reduction strategies will be implemented, and social assistance coverage will be expanded to ensure food security for the vulnerable exposed to natural and manmade disasters and protect them from falling into extreme poverty.
