Abstract
All imported plants and other articles which are infested or infected with plant pests are subject to plant quarantine. Plants and articles as specified in Schedule I require an import permit (art. 4). The importation of any plant or other article specified in Schedule II is prohibited (art. 5). Plants listed in Schedule I need a phytosanitary certificate when imported (art. 6). Exported plants shall be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate only of required by the importing country. The Inspector may waive any or all conditions relating to plant quarantine (art. 7). Article 10 provides for quarantine stations. The remaining articles outline powers and responsibilities of Inspectors and powers of the Minister with respect to prevention of the spreading of diseases and pests, the establishment of new quarantine stations and amendment of the Schedules.
