Privatization of Public Enterprises Proclamation No. 146/1998.

This Proclamation re-establishes the Ethiopian Privatization Agency as an autonomous federal government office having its own legal personality and provides generally for the privatization of public enterprises in Ethiopia. The Agency shall, among other things, implement a Privatization Programme and supervise and enhance the functioning and management of public enterprises. Disputes arising between the Agency and an investor who has participated in privatization shall be referred to the appropriate federal court unless the parties have agreed in their contract to submit such disputes to an arbitration tribunal.
