Water Supply and Sewerage Authority Establishment Proclamation No. 219/1981.

An autonomous public authority is established under section 3. This Authority shall be in charge of providing water supply and sewerage services throughout Ethiopia. The Authority shall be involved in the construction and maintenance of waterworks, control of supply of water and sewerage services by others and propose and submit to the National Water Resources Commission water tariffs and other charges and directives for the efficient organization of water and sewerage services. The Authority shall have a General Manager, the duties of which are set out in section 9.
