Abstract
This Agreement establishes the principles, rules and procedures governing: (i) economic, financial, technical and scientific cooperation in the fisheries sector with the aim of promoting sustainable fishing in Union waters to guarantee the conservation and sustainable exploitation of fisheries resources, and developing Mayotte’s fisheries sector; (ii) the conditions governing access by Seychelles fishing vessels to Union waters; and (iii) the arrangements for the management, control and surveillance measures of fishing activities in Union waters to ensure compliance with existing legislation and to support the effectiveness of measures for conserving fishery resources and managing fishing activities, especially in the fight against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Seychelles vessels may fish in Union waters only if they are in possession of a fishing authorization issued under this Agreement. Annex to this Agreement sets out the procedure for obtaining a fishing authorization for a vessel, the fees applicable, and the method of payment to be used by ship-owners. The implementation of this Agreement may be suspended at the initiative of one of the Parties under the conditions referred to in Article 10.

This Agreement shall apply from the date of its provisional application until 31 December 2028, unless notice of termination is given in accordance with Article 11.
