Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Germany are hereby required to ensure that no pigs are dispatched from their territories unless the pigs (i) come from an area outside those described in the Annex, and (ii) come from a holding where no live pigs proceeding from the areas listed in the Annex have been introduced during the 30-day period immediately prior to the dispatch of the pigs in question. The Member States above-mentioned shall also ensure that the transit of pigs through the areas described in the Annex only takes place on major roads or railways, without any stops by the vehicle transporting the pigs. Article 3 applies to consignments of porcine semen as well as ova and embryos of swine. The consignments are to be accompanied by a health certificate as per article 4. Article 6 lays down particular derogations.
