Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2015/226 amending Implementing Decision 2012/535/EU as regards the definition of susceptible wood and measures to be taken in demarcated areas.

This Decision amends Decision 2012/535/EU on emergency measures to prevent the spread within the Union of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus (Steiner et Buhrer) Nickle et al. (the pine wood nematode). In particular it amends the definition of susceptible wood. Hereinafter susceptible wood shall mean wood of conifers which falls under one of the following points: (i) wood within the meaning of article 2(2) of Directive 2000/29/EC; (ii) wood which has not retained its round surface; (iii) wood in the form of beehives and bird nesting boxes.
