Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/967 laying down the detailed rules on the signal and implementation characteristics of acoustic deterrent devices as referred to in Part A of Annex XIII of Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 on the conservation of fisheries resources and the protection of marine ecosystems through technical measures.

This Regulation lays down detailed rules on the signal and implementation characteristics of acoustic deterrent devices as referred to in Part A of Annex XIII of Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 in order to prevent or at least reduce incidental catches of cetaceans. The masters of Union fishing vessels shall ensure that the acoustic deterrent devices referred are fully operational, during the whole fishing operation. The technical specifications and conditions of use of such acoustic deterrent devices are defined in Annex I to this Regulation.
