Abstract
This Regulation establishes control measures for recreational fisheries. It requires each coastal Member State to submit catch data on the quantities of each species and the number of individuals of each species per geographical area, per category of fishing mode, per type of fishing gear, and per length if relevant. The fishing gear shall be identified according to the types listed in Annex I and the fishing mode according to the categories listed in Annex II. The aggregated data shall be submitted through EU RecFishing central server, by 31 of May of each year and starting from 31 May 2027 under Article 55(2) and by 15th of each month and starting from 15 March 2026 under Article 55(3). Article 4 lays down the requirements for the marking of passive gear used for recreational fisheries. Articles 64 and 65 of Implementing Regulation (EU) No 404/2011 are deleted.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union and shall apply from 10 January 2026.
