Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1042/2006 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of article 28(3) and (4) of Council Regulation (EC) No. 2371/2002 on the conservation and sustainable exploitation of fisheries resources under the Common Fisheries Policy.

The present Regulation lays down provisions pursuant to article 28, paragraphs 3 and 4 of Regulation (EC) No. 2371/2002 as regards coordination and cooperation among Member States to ensure compliance with the Common Fisheries Policy through inspections on fishing vessels. Inspections shall be carried out, on the one hand, by Member States (arts. 1 and 2) and, on the other hand, by Community inspectors (art. 5).
