Commission Regulation (EC) No. 839/2002 amending Regulation (EC) No. 2090/98 concerning the fishing vessel register of the Community.

The present Regulation lays down some amendments and addenda to Regulation (EC) No. 2090/98. In accordance with new article 5(a), a vessel shall be identified in a unique way by means of its internal number, as defined in Annex I to Regulation 2090/98/EC. Such number shall be allocated definitively when the vessel is registered for the first time in a national register. The Commission shall record the information relative to fishing vessels and communicated by Member States in the database constituting the register (art. 1, paragraph 2). Annexes I to V to Regulation 2090/98/EC are amended in accordance with Annexes I to V to this Regulation, concerning inter alia the definition of the data to be communicated and description of records.
