Communication on decent work worldwide for a global just transition and a sustainable recovery.

The overall objective of this Communication is to achieve a human-centred, sustainable, fair and inclusive recovery from the COVID-19 crisis, due to its negative impacts on income, equality in labour market, occupational health and safety and the exercise of fundamental labour rights. The Communication focuses on EU’s comprehensive approach which aims at effective promotion of decent work for all and specifically addresses people working in labour-intensive sectors such as agriculture, fisheries and textiles and also vulnerable and disadvantaged groups such as children and young people, older workers, migrant workers, persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities and workers in the informal economy. It also aims to promote gender equality including through women’s economic empowerment, increasing women’s participation on the labour market in all sectors and at all levels and ensuring equal pay for work of equal value.
