Abstract
For the purposes of this Convention the Contracting Parties agree to establish and maintain an international organization, known as the North-East Atlantic Fisheries Organization, whose objective is to perform its functions in the interests of the conservation and optimum utilization of the fishery resources of the Convention area and take into account the best scientific evidence available to it.
