Council Decision 2000/813/EC on the conclusion of the Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters concerning the provisional application of the Protocol setting out (for the period between the 3 May 2000 to 2 May 2002) the fishing opportunities and the financial contribution agreed between the European Economic Community and the Government of the People's Republic of Angola on fishing off the coast of Angola.

Abstract
The above-mentioned Agreement is hereby approved on behalf of the Community.
The fishing opportunities fixed in the Protocol shall be allocated among the Member States as follows: (a) shrimp vessels: 6550 gross registered tonnage (GRT) per month, as an annual average (maximum 22 vessels). However, the quantities to be fished by Community vessels may not exceed 5000 tonnes of shrimps and prawns per year, of which 30 % shall be prawns and 70 % shrimps (b) demersal fishing vessels: (trawlers, bottom longliners, fixed gillnets): 3750 GRT per month, as an annual average;(c) freezer tuna seiners: 18 vessels. d) surface longliners: 25 vessels; (e) pelagic fishing vessels: 2 vessels. If licence applications from these Member States do not cover all the fishing opportunities fixed by the Protocol, the Commission may take into consideration licence applications from any other Member State.
