Council Decision (EU) 2016/1062 on the conclusion on behalf of the European Union of the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Liberia and the Implementation Protocol thereto.

By virtue of this Decision, the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Liberia and the Implementation Protocol thereto are approved on behalf of the European Union. The Agreement and the Protocol applied on a provisional basis from 9 December 2015. The Agreement sets up a Joint Committee which is responsible for monitoring the performance, interpretation and application of the Agreement. The Annex to this Decision provides for the empowerment of the European Commission and defines the procedure for establishing the European Union position in the Joint Committee.
