Directive 2008/27/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Directive 2001/18/EC on the deliberate release into the environment of genetically modified organisms, as regards the implementing powers conferred on the Commission.

This Directive amends article 16 of Directive 2001/18/EC as regards the implementing powers which are conferred to the Commission in respect of the deliberate release into the environment of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). These new provisions define the procedure for the adoption of criteria and information requirements to be met for the notification, by way of derogation from article 13, for the placing on the market of certain types of GMOs as or in products.
