Abstract
By virtue of this Protocol the Contracting Parties establish the rules and principles that shall govern the implementation of the Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the European Community and the Republic of Cape Verde during the period 2019-2024. The Parties shall undertake to promote responsible fishing in the Cape Verde fishing zone on the basis of the principle of non-discrimination. Cape Verde undertakes to apply the same technical and conservation measures to all industrial tuna fleets operating in its fishing zone with the aim of contributing to proper fisheries governance. Further provisions refer to fishing opportunities and related financial contribution; scientific cooperation to ensure responsible fishing ; cooperation in the field of the blue economy (in particular in the areas of aquaculture, maritime spatial planning, energy, marine biotechnology and the protection of marine ecosystems).
