Protocol on the implementation of Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Seychelles (2020-2026).

This Protocol implements the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement concluded by the European Union and the Republic of Seychelles in 2020. These implementing provisions cover the period from 2020 to 2026.
The Protocol lays down provisions on the European Union financial contribution, fishing opportunities, scientific cooperation on responsible fishing, exploratory fisheries and new fishing opportunities. The Annex sets out conditions for the pursuit of fishing activities by the European Union vessels in the Seychelles fishing zone, which include: application and issuing of fishing authorizations; conservation technical measures; monitoring, control and surveillance (catch recording, Electronic Recording and Reporting system, landing, transhipment, control and inspection, Vessel Monitoring System, observers and enforcement).
The following six Appendices are attached: 1) Seychelles fishing authorisation application form for Union fishing and support vessels; 2) Technical sheet for Union vessels conducting fishing activities in Seychelles; 3) Communication format reports; 4) Implementation of the electronic system for recording and reporting of fishing activities (ERS); 5) Vessel Monitoring System (VMS); 6) Guidelines for engaging Seychelles seamen on Union purse seine vessels.
