Abstract
This Protocol sets out the fishing opportunities and the financial contribution provided for by the Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the European Community on the one hand, and the Government of Denmark and the Home Rule Government of Greenland, on the other hand. It applies for a period of five years beginning on 1 January 2016. European Union fishing vessels shall only carry out their activities in the Greenlandic fishing zone if they are in possession of a fishing authorization issued under this Protocol. The Greenlandic competent authorities shall only issue fishing authorizations to Union fishing vessels under this Protocol. Furthermore, Greenland undertakes to offer a preferential access to available surpluses to the European Union's fleet.
