Abstract
This Protocol sets out the fishing opportunities pursuant to the Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the European Community and the Republic of Kiribati. It stipulates that Kiribati shall grant annual fishing authorizations to the European Union tuna fishing vessels within the limits established by the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) conservation and management measures (CMM). Further the Protocol establishes the financial contribution to be paid by the European Union. The Annex to the Protocol sets out detailed conditions governing fishing activities by European Union fishing vessels in the Kiribati fishing zone.
