Abstract
The objective of this Regulation, in accordance with the multiannual recovery plan for bluefin tuna, (which applies from 2007 to 2022 and was recommended by ICCAT) is to achieve a biomass of bluefin tuna corresponding to the maximum sustainable yield by 2022 with at least a 60 percent of probability of achieving that objective. The Regulation lays down conditions associated with management measures, technical measures (fishing seasons, minimum conservation reference size, incidental catch, by-catch) and control measures (records of vessels, fishing authorizations, records of traps authorized to fish for bluefin tuna.
