Abstract
This Regulation establishes Horizon Europe - the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation for the period 2021 to 2027, in order to (I) to deliver scientific, technological, economic and societal impact from the Union's investments in Research & Innovation so as to strengthen the scientific and technological bases of the Union and foster the competitiveness of the Union in all Member States including in its industry, and (II) contribute to the realization of Union objectives and policies, to tackle global challenges, including the SDGs by following the principles of the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement. The areas for possible missions include climate change adaptation, healthy oceans, seas, coastal and inland waters, and soil health and food.

This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union and shall apply from 1 January 2021.
