Act to amend the Water Act (No. 1416 of 1994).

The amendments of the Water Act are made in consequence of the recent introduction of the Sea Protection Act. All provisions of the Act which apply to inland waters shall also apply to the territorial waters of Finland (sect. 3 of Chapter 1). Other provisions which have been amended concern: pollution of territorial waters (sects. 18 and 19 of Chapter 1), permits issued by the Water Court (sect. 20 of Chapter 1), dumping of mud (sect. 6 of Chapter 4), general provisions applicable to waste water and other polluting substances (sect. 2(a) of Chapter 10); permits for the drainage of waste water (sects. 24, 24(a), 24(e), and 25 of Chapter 10) and international relations (sects. 13 and 15 of Chapter 21).
