Act to amend the Water Act (No. 553 of 1994).

The amendments to the principal Act introduced by the present Act concern mainly the conditions for the construction of waterworks, but also matters such as drainage, water level regulation and regulation of water, water pollution, compensations, procedures before the Water Court, modification applications, inspections, and various miscellaneous matters. Section 22 of Chapter 2 concerns the limitation of damage which the construction of waterworks may cause to fish resources. Also section 10(b) of Chapter 8, dealing with permits for the regulation of water, is concerned with the avoidance of damage to the environment and in particular to fish resources.
