Abstract
This Act aims at the promoting food quality in order to protect public health.
The Act consists of 50 sections divided into 12 Chapters: General provisions (1); general requirements for handling of food and disposal (2); Supervising authorities and their duties (3); Laboratories of analysis approved on the basis of this Act (4); Arrangement of food control (5); Food premises (6); Charges for inspection (7); Measures of enforcement (9); Penal provisions (10); Appeals and implementation of measures (11); Miscellaneous provisions (11); Entry into force and transitional provisions (12).
Section 5 introduces a general prohibition to produce, process, placing on the market, import or export food that may harm the health of human beings. Section 8 concerns self-control by persons that handle food.
