Abstract
The present Act prohibits the use of Finnish vessels for whale hunting. It also prohibits the import of the following products extracted from whales or parts of whales: 1. Whale meat and extracts or juices of whale meat; 2. Organs and skin of whales; 3. Baleen plates and parts thereof, as well as teeth and bones; 4. Waste from the parts mentioned in point 3, as well as flour and powder made from such parts; 4. Ambergris, spermaceti, whale oil, and whale blubber. All whales found in Finnish territory are protected. Penalties in case of offences include fine or imprisonment for a maximum of six months.
