Abstract
This Act applies to operators of natural gas transmission networks who own or operate natural gas transmission networks in Finland. Natural gas includes liquefied natural gas as well as gas from renewable energy sources and other gas injected into the natural gas network. Activities related to natural gas transmission networks shall be separated from the production and supply of natural gas or electricity in accordance with the requirements of this Act. Transmission network operators shall own the transmission networks in which they conduct transmission network operations. The Act contains specific rules concerning the independence of operators of transmission networks; ensuring their independence; reporting obligations; energy supply security; natural gas network permits; the transmission network operator's right to acquire and supply natural gas; etc.
