Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to improve the operating conditions for properties and the profitability of agriculture and forestry by promoting an efficient and functional land structure, as well as a road network and water management that support this structure. It contains provisions on the financing with state funds of the expenses for land allocation (nyskifte) operations and the costs of adaptation measures related to land allocation, as well as on the support provided to land owners from state funds. A land allocation can be supported with state funds if the land structure in an area used for agriculture and forestry can be substantially improved through the allocation, and the benefits achieved from the allocation outweigh the costs. An adaptation measure related to the road network or water management, undertaken in connection with a land allocation, can be financed with state funds if the measure is required and necessary for an effective land structure. A land owner can be granted support from state funds for: 1) Property surveying fees for land allocation processes (administrative cost support); and 2) Costs for adaptation measures related to the road network or water management undertaken in connection with land allocation (investment support).
