Abstract
The present Decree implements the Air Protection Act (No. 67 of 1982). It tasks the Ministry of the Interior with leading, supervising, and promoting air quality management, and in particular: 1) Ensuring the general development and planning of air quality management; 2) Ensuring the preparation and implementation of general guidelines and regulations issued by the government pursuant to Section 9 of the Air Protection Act; 3) Leading and supervising the activities of air quality management authorities and the overall implementation of air quality management; 4) Monitoring, directing, and coordinating air quality management measures across different administrative sectors; 5) Promoting research in the field of air quality management; 6) Ensuring the maintenance of air quality data registers and the development of data systems in this area; 7) Promoting education in the field of air quality management; and 8) Ensuring public awareness and information activities related to air quality management. The tasks of other relevant authorities are also laid out.
