Abstract
This Regulation implements certain provisions of the Animal Protection Act. The text consists of 48 sections, divided into 12 Chapters: General provisions (1); Means of transport (2); Loading and unloading (3); Permits to transport animals and the register of animal transporters (4); Animal transport and persons responsible for transport (5); Actions related to transport (6); Transport of animals from and to a State outside the European Community (7); Length of transport time, with exception of transport by air, for hooved animals, tame animals and cattle, sheep, goats and pigs (8); Other specified tame animals (9); Transit stations (10); Supplemental provisions on transport by road, rail, ship or air (11); Miscellaneous provisions (12).
Section 4 outlines general conditions for transport. There shall be a person appointed as person responsible for each transport of animals pursuant to section 5. Applications for transport permits shall be made to county councils (sect. 20).
