Abstract
The aim of the present Decision, of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, is to regulate the storage, handling, and use of flammable liquids in Finland to prevent accidents, fires, and explosions, and protect human health and the environment. It applies to a wide range of flammable liquids, including petroleum products, solvents, and flammable chemicals. The Decision contains detailed rules on storage, use and handling, fire safety requirements, record-keeping and reporting, and enforcement.
The Decision contains 80 Sections, organized in the following chapters: 1. General; 2. Manufacturing and technical use; 3. Handling; 4. Storage; 5. Tanks; 6. Equipment for fixed tanks; 7. Piping systems and equipment; 8. Electrical equipment; 9. Firefighting equipment; 10. Commissioning of facilities and storage; 11. Special provisions; 12. Provisions on entry into force.
