Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on building technical and functional requirements for pigsties in supported construction (No. 609 of 2023).

The present Decree, adopted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, applies to new constructions, expansions comparable to new constructions, or extensive thorough repairs of pigsties supported under the Act on Structural Support for Agriculture (1476/2007) or the Act on Structural Support for Reindeer Husbandry and Natural Industries (986/2011). The Decree contains general requirements as well as specific rules on placement of pigsties and transportation routes, light openings and daylight, flooring in animal areas, sickbays, feeding and watering areas, isolation and quarantine areas, loading areas, and dimensional requirements for pens and other spaces for swine husbandry.
