Abstract
The present Decree contains provisions on control of certain diseases designated as animal diseases subject to surveillance, including: 1) Measures to be taken to investigate the disease situation and prevent the spread of the disease; 2) Measures from which deviations may be made with a dispensation under Section 32(3) of the Animal Diseases Act (76/2021) and the conditions for granting a dispensation; 3) Ways to ensure that the disease is no longer present on the premises or elsewhere or that it no longer poses a danger; and 4) Diseases in the event of whose occurrence or suspected occurrence a decision on the killing or slaughter of animals referred to in Section 35 of the Animal Diseases Act may not be taken. The Decree prohibits the vaccination of animals against certain animal diseases designated as animal diseases subject to surveillance. Detailed provisions are included on the control of American foulbrood (AFB) and control of Maedi-Visna and Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis.
