Abstract
These Regulations provide for the protection of designations of origin and geographical indications in Finland and for the harmonisation of law of the European Communities in this respect and in particular EC Council Regulation 2081 of 1992.
Protection of designation of origin and geographical indication for agricultural products and foodstuffs can be obtained within the European Communities by a producer in accordance with rules specified in the Attachments. Application for protection is made with the Rural Activities District Offices which shall control the motivation of the application and then notify the Ministry (sects. 7 and 8). Registration of the name protection shall be done by the Commission (sect. 10). (15 sections and 3 Annexes)
