Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry relative to protection of specific character for agricultural products and foodstuffs (No. 934 of 1995).

These Regulations provide for the protection of the specific character of agricultural products and foodstuffs in Finland and for the harmonisation of law of the European Communities in this respect and in particular EC Council Regulation 2082 of 1992 on certificates of specific character for agricultural products and foodstuffs. Annex 1 lists the products for which protection can be requested. Application for protection is made with the Rural Activities District Offices which shall control the motivation of the application and then notify the Ministry (sects. 7 and 8). Applications shall be published by the Commission in the Official Gazette protection shall registered by the Commission after its approval. (14 sections and 2 Annexes)
