Decree of the Ministry of the Environment relative to tasks of the Regional environment centres in matters of acquisition of nature protection areas (No. 298 of 1996).

The Regional Environment Centres shall decide on the acquisition of areas by the state for nature conservation purposes if: (1) the area forms part of an already existing national park; or the area is indicated as a nature protection area in the sense of the Nature Protection Act of 1923; (2) the purchase price does not exceed 1 million marks; and (3) the Centre in question has been authorized to enter into an agreement to carry out the nature protection programme (sect. 1). Section 4 concerns the compensation of losses to former landowners. (5 sections)
