Abstract
The present Decree contains provisions on: 1. Quality requirements, quality objectives, and treatment of household water, as well as chemicals used for the treatment and disinfection of household water; 2. Regular monitoring of household water based on risk management, as well as reporting of investigation results; 3. The procedure to be followed if household water does not meet the quality requirements or objectives; 4. Limitation of radiation exposure caused by radioactive substances in household water; 5. Procedures for risk management regarding building water installations and water abstraction from these; 6. The content of and the preparation of plans for preparedness for disruption situations. The Decree applies to water that is: 1. Supplied to a water distribution area for use as household water; 2. Bottled or placed in containers; 3. Obtained by the water user's own devices for use in households; 4. Obtained by the water user's own devices for use in a food premises; 5. Obtained by the water user's own devices for use in public or commercial operations. Household water must meet the quality requirements specified in tables 1–3 in Annex I. The municipal health protection authority shall ensure that a program for control inspections is developed for facilities that supply household water.
