Abstract
The present Decree applies to the control, monitoring, classification, and management of bathing water quality, as well as the provision of information about the quality of bathing water at public beaches. A public beach is a beach that is expected to be visited by at least 100 bathers per day during the bathing season and for which a notification must be made according to Section 13, Subsection 1, Item 3 of the Public Health Act. Bathing water shall not pose a risk to the health of bathers. The quality of bathing water must meet at least the requirements listed in Table 1 of Annex. The Decree contains detailed ruled on regular control and monitoring of bathing water quality; testing; assessment and classification of bathing water quality; the supervisory authority's obligations; bathing water profile; information to the public; cooperation on transboundary watercourses; etc.
