Abstract
The present Decree applies to the control and monitoring of bathing water quality, as well as the provision of information about the quality of bathing water at small public beaches. A small public beach is a public beach that is expected to be visited by fewer than 100 bathers per day during the bathing season and for which a notification must be made according to Section 13, Subsection 1, Item 3 of the Public Health Act (763/1994). Bathing water shall not pose a risk to the health of bathers. Limits for individual test results and for single observations of cyanobacteria are specified in Table 1 of Annex I. The Decree contains detailed provisions on regular control and monitoring of bathing water quality; sampling and analysis methods; the supervisory authority's duties; information to the public and public participation; etc.
