Abstract
The present Government Decision classifies African horse sickness as an easily spreadably disease. It's purpose it to control the spread of the disease in the event of an outbreak and to make it possible to eradicate it effectively.
The Document contains the following Chapters: 1. Definitions; 2. Disease transmission; 3. Overview of the disease; 4. Measures to be taken in case of suspicion of the disease; 5. Measures to be taken when the disease has been confirmed on a farm; 6. Measures to be taken in the infection area; 7. Determination of the protection zone and surveillance zone; 8. Provisions concerning the protection and surveillance zones; 9. Lifting the provisions concerning the area of infection and the protection and surveillance zones; 10. Information regarding horse sickness; 11. Compensations. Annex 1 concerns restriction rules to be notified to farms on grounds of suspicion of the disease. Annex 2 concerns sampling instructions. Annex 3 concerns the lifting of the restriction that have been notified to farms.
