Abstract
The present Decree lays down provisions on the sampling in slaughterhouses for campylobacter in broilers and measures to be taken in slaughterhouses and animal husbandry establishments if campylobacter is detected.
A slaughterhouse shall, in accordance with the self-monitoring plan referred to in Section 20 of the Food Act, include sampling for campylobacter in broilers. It shall send the samples for analysis to a laboratory as referred to in section 39 (2) of the Food Act. The laboratories shall analyze the samples in accordance with Annex 1. The Decree further lays down provisions on the duties of the Finnish Food Authority; on measures to be taken is campylobacter is detected; data collection; etc.
