Government Decree on food hygiene in notified food premises (No. 1367 of 2011).

The present Government Decree applies to food premises that require approval to operate according to Section 13(1) and (3) of the Food Act, and where retail sales are conducted and or food is handled before retail sale.
The Decree lays down provisions on building, technological and functional requirements for food premises, including space, cleanliness, storage, handling, inspection, etc. It also contains provisions on self-monitoring; temperature requirements of perishable foods during transport, storage, sale, and serving; special requirements for the conditions of food sales; personal hygiene and access of animals to food premises; transport of raw milk and other non-heat-treated milk; etc.
The Annexes concern the requirements for food premises that handle animal foods and which do not need to be approved, and maritime transport of raw sugar to be refined.
