Government Decree on the prescription medicinal products and medicated feedstuffs for the treatment of animals (No. 7/VLA/2008).

The present Decree lays down the factors that veterinarians must take into account when they prescribe medicated feed for veterinary medicinal purposes and the content and form of the veterinarians' prescription of medicinal products and medicated feed. Section 4 establishes veterinarians' right to prescribe medicines for veterinary purposes and Section 5 contains general requirements for the prescription of medicines. All animals should be examined before any drug is prescribed. Annex 1 contains general information on the prescription of medicinal products. Annex 2 contains medicinal products subject to prescription restrictions for the treatment of animals. Annex 3 concerns narcotics, HCI drugs and alcohol prescriptions. Annex 4 concerns the prescription of medicinal products to embryo transfer semiologists. Annex 5 concerns the prescription of medicated feedstuffs. Annex 6 concerns the forms of prescriptions. Annex 7 contains a prescription form for medicated feed.
