Abstract
The present Decree prescribes animal welfare standards for hen farming. It applies to hens kept for egg production. Provisions regarding the protection of broilers and broiler breeders are found in the Government Decree on the Protection of Broilers (375/2011). The Decree contains rules on space for hens, the inner surfaces of barns and cages, equipment and devices intended for poultry farming, conditions in the animal barn, enclosures for outdoor access and other outdoor areas, care for the animals' well-being, water and feeding, etc.
