Abstract
The present Government Decree contains provisions on the storage and technical use of natural gas, as well as on piping systems and units intended for the transmission, distribution, and consumption of natural gas, and for refueling vehicles with natural gas. It also applies gas mixtures that replace natural gas and are used as reserve fuel when these are transmitted and distributed in natural gas piping systems, as well as to biogas. The decree outlines general safety requirements for the handling of natural gas, including: Use of appropriate materials and equipment; Implementation of safety procedures and training; Regular inspection and maintenance of equipment; and Establishment of emergency response plans. Specific requirements are set for the storage and transportation of natural gas.
The Decree contains 41 Sections organized in the following chapters: 1. General provisions; 2. Permits; 3. Installation and maintenance; 4. Inspections; 5. Person responsible for piping system; 6. Operation; 7. Prevention of and protection against explosions; 8. Accidents; 9. Supervision; 10. Special provisions; 11 Entry into force.
