Government Decree on support granted to biogas plants to promote the production of recycled fertilizers for the years 2024-2026 (No. 81 of 2024).

The present Government Decree lays down rules on economic support granted to biogas plants to promote the production of recycled fertilizers for the years 2024-2026. The aim of the support is to create a market for recycled fertilizers in accordance with the objectives of Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, to promote the use of recycled fertilizers and to increase the use of natural fertilizers from livestock and biomass from aquatic plants as raw materials for fertilizing products. Support can be granted for biogas production processes where: 1. Livestock natural fertilizers in accordance with Article 3.6 of Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009 as well as plant biomass derived from water management (eligible input materials) are processed; 2. Recycled fertilizers are processed from digestate formed as an end product of the process and released onto the market; and 3. The gas production capacity is a maximum of 50,000 tons per year. The Decree lays down requirements on the recycled fertilizer.
