Government Decree on Water Resources Management (No. 1040 of 2006).

This Decree, based on sections 10, 20 and 26 of the Act on Water Resources Management, lays down provisions on the matters to be included in a water resources management plan, on the assessment and monitoring of the status of waters, and on the preparation of a water resources management plan. Matters to be included in a water resources management plan, which shall be prepared for a period of six years at a time, are: determination of the characteristics of surface waters and groundwater and their classification; activities influencing surface waters and groundwater bodies; assessment and analysis of water quality especially of water that do not meet environmental objectives and for which a regional environment centre must elaborate additional quality criteria.
